I Automated My Client Onboarding Process — Here's What Actually Happened

  Three months ago, onboarding a new client took roughly 45 minutes of manual work per client . The process involved sending a welcome email, creating a project folder, adding the client to our project management system, scheduling a kickoff call, and chasing down a signed contract copy. With around eight to ten new clients coming in each month, that added up to more than six hours of repetitive administrative work every month. So I decided to automate the entire onboarding process using n8n . This is an honest look at what I built, what went wrong, and what the numbers looked like after running the workflow in production for three months.
